Courses and Training
Our training can be flexible and tailored to your needs!
During the one-day training there is time for everyone to learn about the Persona Doll approach, create personas for their dolls, create and try out stories on anti-discriminatory themes, and practice introducing a doll for the first time.

We offer a range of training possibilities:

Equalities Programmes
Although the Persona Doll approach was developed primarily for use in settings that work with young children, we have always been aware of the importance of supporting Equalities work in communities, with older children, and the wider world in which those settings are located.
In the past we have run projects in nursery schools and children’s centres, and recently we have developed very effective strategies that promote Equalities with practitioners and teachers as well as older children.
Talking Points
‘Talking Points’ is a professional development programme of engaging and enjoyable ‘Equalities-Fitness’ workshops, to help you identify and address equalities strengths and weaknesses in your school, early years setting or college department. It’s a great way to get your colleagues talking about diversity and inclusion, sharing ideas and experiences, improving everyone’s equalities practice. It is best run as a facilitated programme with support from one of our highly experienced consultants who created the programme, but can be self-managed too.
The programme is available as a download purchase.

Empowering Voices
With “Empowering Voices” we are developing ways of using Persona Dolls to create appropriate safe spaces for older children to address issues of diversity and inclusion.
Again, we use a flexible approach to respond to the priorities of the settings we work with, to run workshop sessions where older children, KS2 (7-11 year olds) and KS3 (11-16 year olds) use their life experiences to create authentic personas and stories for use in Nursery and Primary settings.
The publication Empowering Voices through Persona Dolls; A Practical Handbook contains a full account of the development of this strategy.
