A London borough has developed a network of practitioners to upgrade practice and to skill members to take on leadership roles in their settings/schools and the borough.
Prior to the start of the project, an inset day run by Persona Doll Training set the scene.
It focussed on how ‘British’ Values and the Prevent Duty influence practice in the Early Years. The trainers stressed that the values the Government describes as being ‘British’ are in fact universal human values.
At a subsequent Persona Doll training day participants discussed equality issues; worked with the Dolls; got to know each other.
Those interested in forming the network signed up, undertaking to attend meetings and develop their practice.
Members shared their successes and any difficulties they experienced and deepened their awareness, knowledge and skills at follow-up network meetings.
